I apologize for rather dropping out of contact without keeping y'all informed of the changes in my life. If you follow me on Facebook, you'll see occasional Live posts about my travels across country, a journey I began May 7, after completing with my home in Asheville and shipping my things to eventually meet up with me when I return to living in Sebastopol, CA in mid-July.
Everything changed for me after Hurricane Helene and my subsequent heart attack (details in previous blog). I recovered in Sebastopol, then spent 3 months in Asheville to gain closure and complete with people. I so appreciated being there for Spring as the renewal of the landscape and return of blossoms and beauty were so healing to my heart.
As I prepared for my adventure of exploring the beauty of this land by using 5 weeks to meander across to Portland, OR (for the Oregon Tantra Festival), I realized I needed a sabbatical to deeply rest from a lifetime of hard work. I've been working 64 years to support myself since age 16, almost without a break! Thankfully, the Universe found a great way to buy me time off and fund my later years, so I can have a deep respite and let my systems reset. I had no idea how tired I was!!
Since the Festival, I've been exploring the gorgeous Pacific Northwest, which I'll do till early July, then travel down the beautiful Oregon coast to CA. Mostly I travel on roads new to me, with a sense of wonder and curiosity. I see so much more of how people live by using back roads instead of freeways.
Amazing to see how beautiful this country is, in all it's forms. I never knew there were so many mountain ranges to cross, and so much diversity, even in the deserts. I went from 101 degrees in Dallas area to 23 degrees in Silverton, CO a week later. I've driven 4200 miles, touched 11 states, visited 5 hot springs, and had delightful stays with 6 old friends and family. Yum!
Some of it has been hard, like life, and occasionally lonely, but mostly it's been fulfilling and has deepened my connections with loved ones I've stayed with, and others I stay in touch with by phone. I had a precious deepening with my nieces in Texas, and truly enjoyed days with friends in CO, UT, CA, and OR. I feel loved and received, and that healing is happening just by being real with each other.
I post some pictures on Facebook though I've mostly transitioned from a digital life to a relational one, so my posts are far between. My sabbatical will extend into July and maybe longer as I receive and move into my new Sebastopol home. I love my work, and the few sessions I've done on the road are extraordinary, so I'm sure I'll return to offering sessions, and my website will show when times are available. This is an amazing time of growth for me. I'm in a 9 month Apprenticeship with Cyndi Dale, a rare person ahead of me on the path of Quantum Healing techniques, and in deep personal therapy with an amazing woman who helps me remember I am truly a being of Light having a human experience. Also working with Dr. Tricia Thompson, RootCause Doc, to heal my gut biome and improve my health. It's working and I'm stronger than I've been in some years - walking and dancing helps!
I feel especially blessed to be staying for about 10 days with a new/ ancient friend near Mt Hood, Oregon, satisfying my long-felt desire to explore the Columbia River Gorge and this part of our beautiful land.
